EM Architects were entrusted with the design of LID’s new supermarket in Mosta. The new structure’s design was based largely on orientation of the site as well as easy circulation both within the supermarket as well as outside of the building to ensure efficient vehicular movement. The supermarket was designed with a large expense of glass at its entrance so as to provide natural light within the supermarket and a new roundabout was designed as part of the project ensuring that they would be easy access for all visitors. Incredibly, the supermarket was constructed in record time and opened its doors to the public after only three months after site work commenced. The structure was constructed mainly using precast elements which severely decreased the duration of the structure's construction.
