Al Khoms
Libya

EM Architects were trusted with the design of a masterplan for a large scale residential development of over 4500 units in Al Khums, Libya, including all related public amenities, such as schools, markets, libraries, health centres and mosques required to cater for the projected population of 26,000.  This project was a prime example of urban architecture, a project where architecture and planning does not only focus on the buildings themselves but more importantly on the relationships between the buildings as well as the spaces that are created between the buildings.
